GameShadow Battles was announced on April with 5,000£ prizepot. The tournament started on late may with total of 128 teams divided to 32 groups, with top two of each group advancing to double-elimination bracket.
The Counter-Strike: Source team of Team Menace.fi had no problem qualifying for the playoffs as the team topped their group with two wins and one loss. On playoffs the team won their first three games 2-0, defeating MYL eSports, OFFBALANCE GAMING and Copenhagen Wolves on the their way to top 16. Next match was upperbracket quarter final versus finnish team RAGE eSports and unfornately our team lost the match 1-2, but the tournament was not over for the team, as they would continue their games on lowerbracket.
On lowerbracket quarter final the team played against eternal esports from Latvia. The team were well prepared for the match and quickly the match was over, with final score being 16-2 for Team Menace.fi. On next match the team played against dutch team called Team-Visualize, securing another win with 16-9 score and a top six finish.
Unfornately the team were not able to overcome the germans of EYES ON U, who advance to the lower brackets third semi-final with 22-19 win.
Out of 128 teams, the Counter-Strike: Source team of Team Menace.fi finished 5/6th. Another great result for the team!
The next tournament for the boys is the SteelSeries Challenge at Assembly Summer, which takes place at Hartwall Areena, Helsinki, Finland on 3.-4th of August.
